Somewhere along information technology's adventures I lost the radials. However the SWR is one.1 to 1 and 1.half-dozen at the band edges. At that place. Enough said. Going to try information technology on UHF shortly. WM5M

KK9H Rating: 2014-07-04 Classic, uncomplicated design Time Endemic: more than 12 months. I have used Cushcraft Ringo antennas for years and never had a trouble with them. They are easy to get together and easy to tune to your frequency. I used an original Ringo design on 220 back in the 70s and more than recently I take used one ARX-2B on 2M for portable stations in events and some other as a marine ring antenna to talk to the boat from the summer home. In both cases they have been taken apart and reassembled for over 20 years. Performance has been very good and reliable. The double v/eight wave colinear pattern works merely fine for my needs and is piece of cake to disassemble for storage. As was mentioned previously, follow the instructions carefully during initial assembly and they will work fine for you for many years.

It was easy to assemble and I didnot need to practise any adjustments after using the instructions the SWR over all is i.5. I have it 10 anxiety off the footing which works great for me. I will revisit my review in a few months

I have one of these up for almost seven years now at the garage end of my firm and an AR-270 at the shack terminate. I use this 1 nearly as much as the i for the shack since when I work in the garage or outside I have my garage rig on. I have never had a problem with this antenna. Installation and tuning is quite easy and the design is simple and direct forward. I was going to give this a rating of 4 since information technology has the typical crappy way of connecting the transmission line using a UHF connector rather than an N connector, just I accept never had a problem with the connector or water since I exercise weatherproof all my antenna connections (even Due north'south) as I did for commercial work. Structurally the antenna has withstood several tropical storms. (I exercise non think we had a hurricane since information technology has been installed.)

KB8DNS Rating: 2012-05-08 lightly built.... Time Owned: more than 12 months. Mounted this at the top of my belfry mast at 65 feet. worked corking till the fifth year when the parts started coming off! Non easy to take downwardly so there it sits as a bird landing!

K1YPB Rating: 2011-01-05 Cracking Antenna Fourth dimension Endemic: more than 12 months. I accept had this antenna for xx plus years, and it works bully. I cleaned it upward, retuned it and tightened it down with new stainless hardware. Works like brand new. This is a rugged antenna and truly one of Cushcraft's bench mark designs.

I put my Ringo Ranger up in 1974 and it yet sees utilise every 24-hour interval.Information technology volition outlive me. ---------------------- Earlier 5-star review posted by WB4LFC on 2008-05-02 I put my Ringo Ranger upward in August 1975.It has been in abiding use.It has fabricated three moves and has survived several storms. The SWR is about ane:1 over the whole two Meter Band.I live on a hill and my antenna is on a 40 foot mast.I've fabricated simplex contacts of over 150 miles.It has also doubled as a scanner antenna. They are too very broadbanded. I'll buy another if I live long enough!

I got ARX-2B with some of the footing radial broken, so I made it into ARX-2 ( without B ) it workes noticably improve than my discone antenna with 0dBi gain. PRO - have wide frequency adjusting capability. easy to maintain, unlike fiber glass covered antenna, no hidden element to inspect. thicker chemical element makes wider bandwidth.

KA0ZIS Rating: 2009-xi-24 Very Good Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months. Piece of cake to prepare up and tune, parts are available (if needed) from Cushcraft. But had one problem ever and that was caused by and Water ice tempest hither in Kansas. Cushcraft was quick in getting the replacement function to my QTH. I have had the same antenna for about eight years now and it however performs not bad. I accept C1180 Coax on it and it has depression SWR across the entire ii meter band. Top performer and cost effective.
